Ha! I have a slew of recipes made with guava and now we’re adding one more to the list.Īfter weeks of hearing about it, I finally tried the new Starbucks Guava Passionfruit Drink and it was a tropical paradise in my mouth! While this is an on the rocks margarita, you can make it a frozen guava margarita by adding it to a blender with the ice until your desired consistency is reachedIn case you’re new here, you should know two things about me – I come from a Cuban family, I live in Miami, and I love guava.Make this a spicy guava margarita by adding some jalapeño slices – they'll make the drink spicier as they sit so prep accordingly (if you want it spicier, put them in the tequila advance of drinking the margaritas and let them sit for a little while).You don't need any special margarita glasses for this, any regular glass or even a mason jar works!.Add a salt rim to the glass! Take a slice of lime around the rim of each glass glass and then dip it in some kosher salt - you want to use a coarse salt for rimming a margarita glass which is why kosher is preferred.If you can't find guava nectar, guava juice or guava puree are both fine.Serve with a fresh lime wedge or lime slice for a little flare! To get a full slice on the glass cut at least ¼" slice of lime and then make a slit towards the center (but be careful to not hit the center as that'll likely cause it to split).If you taste it and want it a bit sweeter, you can add some simple syrup or agave nectar but definitely taste it first as the guava juice adds a bit of sweetness.Instead of mixing in the cup you could alternatively add all ingredients to a cocktail shaker and pour into the cup.Don’t add ice until you’re going to drink it!
